Step back in time to the legendary 1976 New York _Star Trek_ Convention, now restored in stunning *4K/60fps/HDR* using Topaz Video at the _SYL Ranch_ *DARKROOM* !

This rare footage captures the massive crowds and electric atmosphere of what fans still call *DisasterCon* .

According to eyewitness accounts, 30,000 people showed up for an event that simply couldn't hold them all. The organizer, Lisa Boynton (the woman in the top hat), reportedly locked herself in her hotel room before fleeing with the convention's proceeds. The general chaos earned the con its infamous nickname.

This is just a small surviving fragment of that wild weekend in January, 1976.
